SCARY DAY

I had work at an elementary school today. I got there all stressed out; I was 10 min late because there was construction off the highway and it took me 30 mins to jut get off the freeway!!! GRRRR! I was so irritated. So it took me about an hour to get to work which should have only taken me 30 min MAX! Well I arrived safe, but rushed. FFFFEEEWWWW! Got to class, kids were just starting to arrive. Read the lesson plan. Today is Earth day so the day was supposed to be fun and filled with lots of activities. I was just about to line the kids up to go to art class when another teacher came in and introduced herself and said "Hi, I'm just going around to all the subs today to let them know... the reason why a lot of the teachers aren't here today is because there was an outbreak of Fifth Disease and it can effect pregnant women" WHAT WHAT WHAT! "so if any of our subs are pregnant we need to dismiss you" WHAT WHAT WHAT! I NEED TO LEAVE! awful things crossed my mind and I tried as calmly as possible to say "then I need to leave". She kept talking to me, but I wasn't paying attention. All I could think about was  getting my baby out of there and driving  straight to my OBGYN office, which was luckily right down the street, and find out how bad this exposure was. After many apologies from the front office and teachers not sure if I was actually expecting, I ran out of that school, straight into my car, called Nick to tell him what had happened, and drove the block to my OBGYN office. I've heard of the disease before but didn't know what it actually was, but if all the pregnant teachers in that school were out for the week I sure wasn't gonna stay there. The nurses in the office were very nice by taking me without an appointment and told me they had sent a note to triage and they would get back with me ASAP to set up an appointment to get some blood work done to make sure I'm immune to it. I left the office still a little worried but the nurses had reassured me  it wasn't an emergency. About 15 min went by when triage called so I made an appointment tomorrow morning for blood work and hopefully everything is fine. I found out that Fifth disease is common in children and most people are exposed to it as children and build immunities to it at a young age, but if you are pregnant and come in contact with it and you aren't immune to it, it can have a fatal impacted on the fetus. The good thing is that there is only a 1% chance of fatality in fetuses over 20 weeks. The bad thing is I was at that school about 4 weeks ago and the incubation period of Fifths Disease is between 4-21 days, so I could have been in contact with the carrier then which makes the probability of fatality jump to 10%. Another good thing is that I haven't felt sick and I have had 2 visits with my OBGYN since then including the Comprehensive Sonogram and everything has come up normal. I YI YI. I'm still a little freaked out, I'm trying not get too worried;  I just really hope everything comes back fine. From now on I will be asking if there are any out brakes of any kind of disease in a school before I walk into it. Until next time

Mommy mode!!!

Ok so for the last couple weeks Zeina has been such a wiggle worm it's unbelievable! When I started feeling movement as early as 15 weeks I thought it might just be me hoping it was the baby but now I know it was definately her. I feel her kicking, moving, hick-uping and twisting all the time. My doctor and I were actually laughing so hard in the exam room last week as she was trying to get a heart solid heart beat out of her. All we kept hearing was beat beat beat BOOP beat BOOP beat beat BOOP beat BOOP (those BOOPS are kicks). My doctor was laughing so hard "you're not kidding, she's a sassy one!" is what she said to me. Well it is awesome to feel her moving and Nick's been lucky to feel and see her kick  many times. SIGH :D   Well Nick is picking up her furniture today, a crib and a changing table. We got a REALLY good price for them. A lady from his work was selling her daughters so I decided to look at it on Friday and WOW this furniture is beautiful and exactly what I wanted to begin with. The crib had to have cost at least $800 alone and she ended up selling the crib, mattress, Changing table, Changing table pad and some extras for a third of the price all together which is cheaper than buying new from the store and we ended up with  better quality as well. I'm so excited to get it cause I'm also making the bedding and window treatments. I found fabric  I LOVE LOVE LOVE and was CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP! Beats spending about $200 on a 3 piece set I didn't really love and what's more fun than sewing stuff! Pics of the progress coming soon ;) Okay the pics above are of Easter morning. I made a pancake breakfast for Nick and I and decided to make one for Lilu too since she's been such a good girl. Turkey bacon, eggs, and a pancake doggy style for our first born love child. GEEZ our kid's gonna be spoiled; no not spoiled just well taken care of :). My father-in-law actually made a comment that he knew we are going to be good parents cause Lilu is "well taken care of". LOL! She was so funny she had no idea if she was aloud to eat it. It took her a good min to realize it was hers, "bone" appetite. LOL. I had a really good day today. I cleaned our house, finished registering and now I'm sitting here just me  my computer, and Lilu in our kitchen enjoying the nice view outside drinking some "organic" italian soda, at least that's what it says on the bottle. :D   I'm totally getting into mommy mode. How long it will last, hopefully a  long time, but I'm really enjoying my time out here, FINALLY! Morning sickness GONE, deathly freezing weather GONE, lack of energy GONE and best of all nice figure GONE!!! LOL! oh well I'll get it back sooner or later right? Well Cali is coming in about a month now and I'm super excited to see everyone again and eat some in-n-out visit the beach and friends and such. Miss you all and love ya mucho! My Dream Was Right...

20 weeks

We are having a little girl. Her name is Zeina (Zay-na) Sofia. I knew it all along. I had a dream that I had and  saw her being born about 2 months ago which affirmed my thoughts and they were right. I still remember what she looked like in my dream so I'm very curious to what she actually looks like. I can't forget those big honey brown eyes :D.  I'm so excited! now I can finally finish registering and start buying things, or should I say continue to buy things for our little girl. I bought those clothes a week ago because I just knew it, hee hee. Couldn't resist a sale I guess. I can't stop looking at her and those big lips. She's definitely our child. Until next time. :D

THE BEST DINNER EVER!!!!

We finally went out to dinner yesterday thanks to my father-in-law who gave us a gift card from Chili's. WOW!!! I had the best dinner I have ever had in my life. I don't know if it was spending time, outside of the house, with Nick, the actual dinner or a combo of the two and me being pregnant but I had the best time. I ordered the Fajita Pita with guac on the side and I couldn't stop talking about how much I loved it and how delicious it was. MMMMM MMMMMM. I think I might go back everyday and order it until I'm sick of eating it. YEAH!

MOVEMENT AND SOME KICKS

16 and 17 weeks

I finally felt and saw our baby kick today! I was feeling a lot of movement in my belly then...boop...I felt it. It was very faint but it definitely was a kick. I stared at my belly and tried to stay as still as I possibly could for about 5 min and  another...boop...I actually saw my skin move! WOW! this baby is a strong one. I've heard it from so many pregnant women but it really is so awesome to feel that baby kick and wiggle inside you. My excitement is at it's high right now. I think I might explode with happiness when we finally see the sonogram in about 3 weeks to find out what we are having....EEEE! I do have another appointment this Tuesday for more blood tests so hopefully they come back all clear for the baby. Until next time :D

I AM SO LAME! LOL

Okay so I subbed today for 1st grade and it was really fun! This group of kids were by far the best I've had since I started. Okay to back to my story, I don't cry very often and hate crying in front of others. We had time for movie today in class and the movie was "The Land Before Time." OMG! I started crying at the end when all the little dinosaurs finally find the great valley and were reunited with their families. WHAT A LAME-O I AM!!!! I couldn't believe it. Luckily no one saw me since I was sitting in the back and I had the biggest lump from trying to hold back the tears. CAN YOU SAY HORMONAL>LOLOLOL!!!! I thought it was something funny to share with you all. :D
